Job Summary
The Substance Use Treatment Manager is responsible for leading and supervising a team of clinical substance use counselors. The position provides oversight and coordination of professional, administrative and clinical activities. Specific responsibilities include program development and management, supervision of staff and establishment of positive community relations through ongoing collaboration and communication with relevant professionals and agencies. The position requires a balance of clinical and administrative leadership.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
· Provide clinical supervision to a team of counselors and therapists.
· Provide management of the receptionist staff.
· Provide direct administrative supervision to assigned staff including recruitment, selection, training, mentorship, performance evaluation, and discipline.
· Evaluate program design, development and implementation of services and make recommendations to Chief Operating Officer (COO).
· Ensure appropriate service delivery by staff.
· Promote professional development of staff through teaching, modeling and the development of structured learning opportunities.
· Complete random audits of client files
· Teach and monitor delivery and documentation of services to ensure that contractual obligations are met in accordance with DHS/SUPR, CARF and MGI standards.
· Carry out program management activities such as planning, staffing, program development, program implementation, quality assurance and quality improvement.
· Become familiar with Core x360 software and regularly generate reports for COO as requested
· In collaboration with program managers and the COO, participate in agency-wide program development and evaluation to ensure that Mutual Ground programs are effective, efficient, and consistent with the organization’s mission and goals.
· Maintain a climate which attracts, maintains, and motivates a diverse, competent staff.
· Analyze data and prepare reports to evaluate services, capacity, and in response to funders’ requests.
· Collaborate with program managers to enhance service quality.
· Assist with fundraising and grant writing.
· Provide direct services to clients as needed.
· Organize and facilitate awareness-raising events.
· Engage in advocacy to ensure sensitive, responsible treatment of victims.
· Provide crisis intervention as needed.
· Network within the community to develop social resources.
· Participate in management meetings, training programs and supervisory sessions.
· Contribute to the development of positive team relations within the department and across MGI.
· Provide substance use education to volunteers/new-hires and the larger community as needed.
· Demonstrate integrity and professionalism in interactions with clients, staff, volunteers and donors.
· Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
· One of the following licenses required, LCSW, LCPC or CADC;
· Education commensurate with licensing obtained;
· 5 years of progressively responsible experience in substance use treatment;
· 60-Hour Domestic and Sexual Violence Training Certificate (can be obtained after hire);
· DCFS training and mandated reporter certificate;
· Experience in substance use services and supervision;
· Strong leadership skills;
· Excellent crisis intervention and problem solving skills;
· Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing;
· Excellent computer skills including MS Office, Internet, email applications and Google Workspace;
· Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively;
· Acceptance and respect for diversity of culture, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, ability, and religious belief.
Working Conditions
Standard office environment. Required to meet with volunteers and/or staff throughout the facility. Some evening hours and attendance at events outside the facility will be required on an occasional basis.
