Counseling Services Manager

Reports to COO

Exempt / Full-time

Job Summary

The Counseling Services Manager is responsible for leading and supervising a team of clinical counselors. The position provides oversight and coordination of professional, administrative and clinical activities. Specific responsibilities include program development and management, supervision of staff and establishment of positive community relations through ongoing collaboration and communication with relevant professionals and agencies. The position requires a balance of clinical and administrative leadership.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

· Provide clinical supervision to a team of therapists.

· Provide direct administrative supervision to assigned staff including recruitment, selection, training, mentorship, performance evaluation, and discipline.

· Ensure appropriate service delivery by staff.

· Promote professional development of staff through teaching, modeling and the development of structured learning opportunities.

· Teach and monitor delivery and documentation of services to ensure that contractual obligations are met in accordance with Federal, State, Local, ICASA, ICADV and MGI standards.

· Carry out program management activities such as planning, staffing, program development, program implementation, quality assurance and quality improvement.

· In collaboration with program managers, COO, and directors, participate in agency-wide program development and evaluation to ensure that Mutual Ground programs are effective, efficient, and consistent with the organization’s mission and goals.

· Maintain a climate which attracts, maintains, and motivates a diverse, competent staff.

· Analyze data and prepare reports to evaluate services, capacity, and in response to funders’ requests.

· Collaborate with program managers to enhance service quality.

· Assist with fundraising and grant writing.

· Provide weekend and holiday on-call coverage for staffing emergencies in 24-hour residential program.

· Provide direct services to victims of domestic and sexual violence, as needed.

· Organize and facilitate awareness-raising events.

· Engage in institutional advocacy to ensure sensitive, responsible treatment of victims.

· Provide crisis intervention to victims of domestic and sexual violence.

· Network within the community to develop social resources.

· Participate in management meetings, training programs and supervisory sessions.

· Contribute to the development of positive team relations within the department and across MGI.

· Provide domestic and sexual violence education to volunteers/new-hires and the larger community as needed.

· Provide advocacy to victims of domestic and sexual violence at local emergency departments.

· Transport clients to goal-related appointments and activities.

· Demonstrate integrity and professionalism in interactions with clients, staff, volunteers and donors.

· Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

· LCSW or LCPC;

· 60-Hour Domestic and Sexual Violence Training Certificate;

· DCFS training and mandated reporter certificate;

· Strong leadership skills;

· Excellent crisis intervention and problem solving skills;

· Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing;

· Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively;

· Acceptance and respect for diversity of culture, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, ability, and religious belief.

Working Conditions

Standard office environment. May be required to travel to local hospital emergency departments, schools, courthouses, satellite offices and other locations for purposes of training, advocacy, counseling and to otherwise represent Mutual Ground. Some evening hours are required.

Must be available to respond within one-hour when responsible for on-call coverage outside of regular work hours. Nothing in this job description restricts management’s right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time.

Pay: $63,000.00 - $65,500.00 per year
