Description
If you are a healthcare professional or family caregiver providing care to those living with dementia, or you are looking for your business to become more dementia friendly, this seminar is for you! Register here.
This course is for individuals that want quality dementia education, to become certified as a Dementia Connection Specialist (DCS), or if you are a leader in the industry and want to become a DCS Certified Trainer (DCS/DCSCT).
In this internationally-accredited dementia care training, you will master an innovative cognitive-behavioral approach to care called the Dementia Connection Model© (DCM), which ties together three key concepts in understanding Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia and how to provide the best quality of care. You will better understand the disease progression through the lens of the DCM and how to apply it to every aspect of dementia care. During the course, you will exercise your brain in learning how to best implement evidenced-based, non-pharmacological, sensory-based approaches and tools that are a part of the model fo care, which have been proven to positively influence the emotions for those living with dementia, enabling positive behavioral expressions, and a better connection with their caregivers. You can use these tools immediately!
Created and led by Dr. Jennifer Stelter, clinical psychologist, dementia expert, national speaker, and Johns Hopkins Press author of The Busy Caregiver's Guide to Advanced Alzheimer Disease.
