Description

Shop for Charity on the 5th Saturday of the Month

We’ll donate 10% of your Little Traveler shopping total on October 31 to a local charitable organization. Designate the donation on your purchase to go to Association for Individual Development (AID), Cal’s Angels, Lazarus House, and Northern Illinois Food Bank.

About the Organizations

New Option in 2026:

Association for Individual Development (AID)

Operating in the greater Fox Valley area and other western suburban counties, AID's mission is to empower people with physical, developmental, intellectual, and mental health challenges to enjoy lives of dignity and purpose.

This 501(c)(3) organization offers tailored, consumer-focused programs and services designed to be equitable and inclusive for individuals facing developmental, intellectual, physical, and mental health challenges, those who have experienced trauma, those in immediate or chronic crises, those who are chronically unhoused, and those at risk. AID aims to help them overcome personal, behavioral, societal, and environmental barriers to achieve recovery, independence, self-reliance, and live the lives they choose.

AID supports over 5,200 children and adults, operates community day centers in Elgin, Aurora, Batavia, and Yorkville, and provides outpatient mental health clinics throughout the Fox Valley. The organization also supports over 500 individuals living in their own apartments and more than 200 in group homes across the region.

Cal's Angels Pediatric Cancer Foundation
Cal's Angels

Cal's Angels is a 501(c)(3) pediatric cancer foundation that grants wishes, raises awareness, and funds research to help kids who are fighting cancer. The foundation's purpose is to provide support and hope during one of the most difficult challenges a family can face.

In 2023, the foundation granted wishes to 220 children receiving cancer treatment. Cal's Angels also organizes many events and programs that support children with cancer as well as their parents and siblings, including hospital parties and comfort kits. Through its partnership with medical organizations, Cal's Angels helps fund important research related to the treatment of childhood cancer. Several events throughout the year help raise funds to support these efforts. The foundation also accepts direct donations and sells encouraging merchandise.

The foundation is named for Cal Sutter, a South Elgin Little League All-Star who in 2005 was diagnosed with Acute Myelogenous Leukemia at the age of 12. Throughout his treatment, Cal never lost hope and often displayed more concern for the well-being of other children fighting cancer than for himself. Although he ultimately lost his battle with Leukemia, his courage and compassion inspired the creation of Cal's All-Star Angel Foundation, Inc.—Cal's Angels.

Luke 16: 19-21 Lazarus House
Lazarus House

Lazarus House in St. Charles, IL provides safe shelter, food, and a range of support services for local men, women, and children who are homeless or otherwise in need of hope for the future.

The organization works with many social service agencies and a range of federal, state, and community resources to provide its guests with the assistance and tools they need to get back on their feet, with a goal of independent, long-term success. A network of volunteers and donors make the services provided by Lazarus House possible. In fiscal year 2024, Lazarus House Emergency Shelter and Center for Transitional Living provided care for 175 individuals, 18,178 nights of shelter, and 54,534 nourishing meals.

Lazarus House serves people who are connected to Batavia, Geneva, St. Charles, and western rural Kane County, IL, by address, employment, school district, or immediate family member.

Northern Illinois Food Bank
Northern Illinois Food Bank

Northern Illinois Food Bank is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides food and healthy eating services for our neighbors throughout Northern Illinois. Their goal is for everyone to have the food they need to thrive.

The organization provides nutritious food and resources with dignity, equity, and convenience through partnerships and innovation. Northern Illinois Food Bank brings together manufacturers, local and corporate grocers, area farmers, corporations, foundations and individuals who donate food and funding. Every dollar donated to the food bank helps provide $8 worth of groceries. Furthermore, nearly 1000 volunteers help evaluate, repack, and distribute food every week. The food bank partners with more than 900 food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, and youth and senior feeding programs to provide nutritious food and resources.

Northern Illinois Food Bank has distribution centers in Geneva, Rockford, Lake Forest, and Joliet. These centers serve Boone, DeKalb, DuPage, Grundy, Kane, Kankakee, Kendall, Lake, McHenry, Ogle, Stephenson, Will, and Winnebago counties, providing 250,000 meals daily.
