Autumn is approaching and we are celebrating with good food, wine, music and fun! Festival of the Vine is this weekend, September 11-13 in downtown Geneva along James Street between Fourth and Fifth streets.

Enjoy unique wine and beer offerings from local breweries while trying food from Geneva’s local restaurants. There will be activities for everyone in the family to enjoy, even if they’re under 21. For example, see the beautiful views of the historic downtown while riding in a free carriage ride on Saturday and Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m., or go find your next treasure at the Arts & Craft Show on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

We are also bringing back the popular Doodle Booth from Swedish Days on Saturday, September 12! We had such a great turnout where lines of people waited to have their portrait drawn. Pay a quarter and local artist Spencer Donahue will draw a pen-style portrait of you from 3 to 5 p.m. Also on Saturday, the Kids’ Tent will offer face painting by Miss. Mindy from 12 to 2:30 p.m.

The free live entertainment will pique everyone’s interests. Music genres include country, Latin and rock. Bands will perform from 3:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Friday, 1:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Saturday and noon to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday.
Special events put on by the local restaurants and specialty shops will happen all week long. Events include history museum exhibits, wine tastings and special meet-and-greets with wine enthusiasts.
