Job Summary
The Director of Development in partnership with, and under the direction of, the Executive Director is charged with the formulation and implementation of the Fox Valley Hands of Hope annual fundraising plan.  This includes the overall responsibility for the planning and execution of all special events, grant writing, foundation support, major gifts, individual giving, reporting, public relations and marketing activities.
Salary Range: $ 54,500 to $ 59,750 depending on qualifications.
  • 5 to 8 years of successful, growth orientated, fundraising leadership.
  • Master’s degree in Fundraising, Nonprofit Management, Communication or Business Administration.
  • Experience developing and managing  successful annual giving campaigns
  • Documented success in growing fundraising revenue
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • 3 to 5 years of successful fundraising experience
  • Undergraduate degree in Communications,  Nonprofit Management, Business or related field
  • Experience in planning both small and large scale fundraising events
  • Understanding of marketing communication with an emphasis on social media
  • Grant writing experience
  • Experience with  donor database management
  • Ability to work effectively with volunteer s and committees
Fox Valley Hands of Hope is a community based 501(c) 3 organization that works to enhance the quality of life and to provide hope to those experiencing grief or life-threatening illnesses in Kane and Kendall counties, as well as parts of DuPage County. The organization’s staff and trained volunteers continuously provide unsurpassed support to all those needing hope and compassionate care.
Originally founded in 1981 as Fox Valley Hospice, the organization remains dedicated to providing practical, spiritual and emotional support to individuals and their families who are dealing with loss of life. Supported entirely by the community, all care is available without charge regardless of age, income level, race or religious beliefs.
