Job Description
Geneva Chamber of Commerce: Sponsorship Director position
 
Geneva Chamber of Commerce is seeking a Sponsorship Director.  The Sponsorship Director will be responsible for maintaining, developing, obtaining and managing sponsorship for Geneva Chamber’s festivals (attracting up to 300,000 attendees annually), programs and events;  serving as an advocate for the Geneva Chamber.  The Sponsorship Director reports to the President of the Geneva Chamber.
 
  • Develop and design customized sponsorship packages, including pricing.
  • Research and pursue potential sponsorship prospects, educating them on Geneva Chamber’s sponsorship opportunities.
  • Develop innovative sales strategies, determine new business opportunities and define the most effective and efficient ways to reach prospects.
  • Host and manage sponsor participation at Geneva Chamber festivals, programs and events.Attendance at each festival is required.
  • Maintain database of all sponsor prospects and secured sponsors with contact information, contact history and financial/support history.
  • Prepare and present sponsorship proposals.
  • Maintain continuing rapport and relationships with prospects and sponsors, obtaining feedback regarding their participation and updating them with new opportunities.
  • Work closely with Chamber leadership on sponsor strategies and execution of plans.
  • Provide sponsors with “wrap-up” packets following the festival, program or event.
  • Develop programs and events to enhance membership and sponsorship activities.
     
    The ideal candidate will possess a creative marketing edge, demonstrate a proven sales record, enjoy variety and the challenge of organized chaos.   A social media background and knowledge of Geneva and its surrounding communities is a plus.

    Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Demonstrated experience in sales or business development
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated with attention to detail
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, set/manage priorities, meet deadlines and follow through
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to foster strong working relationships
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, databases, and appropriate web-based applications and services
