Description
Kitchen Walk to benefit Fox Valley Food for Health
Fox Valley Food For Health is a 501c3 organization started in 2012 by Mary Fremgen and Susan Leigh. Their passion for health and nutrition and community involvement has evolved into incorporating teen volunteer cooks, as a way to impact the wellness of the generations of tomorrow, with members of the community that are suffering from serious illness. Volunteer teens are taught cooking skills and nutrition by adult mentor chefs. The nutrient rich meals are delivered along with nutritional education and face to face caring support to families in our own Fox Valley community that are dealing with serious health issues.
On Saturday, September 27, from 10-3, tour five new, beautiful kitchens in St. Charles and Geneva, all designed by Past Basket Design of Geneva. Following the kitchen tours, a tented outdoor reception will take place at beautiful Country Garden Cuisine Cooking School in Campton Hills, from 3-5 pm. Enjoy light snacks prepared by our mentor Chef, Doug Yeomans of Tarragon Catering. Also featured will be snacks prepared and served by FVFFH teen chefs. Tickets can be purchased for $40 (ticket price includes reception) in St. Charles at Blue Goose Market, and in Geneva at Past Basket Design, the Paper Merchant, bb interiors, and Kernel's Gourmet Popcorn & More. Cash and checks only, please. Each kitchen will be showcasing a gorgeous raffle basket full of goodies. $5 raffle tickets will be for sale at each home. Winners will be drawn at the reception and need not be present to win. The event is sponsored by Cadence Health. All proceeds will go to FVFFH.
