Get your walking shoes on and step back in time during the historic estate walking tour at the Fabyan Forest Preserve! Preservation Partners is sponsoring a 45-minute tour that will be Sunday, October 2 at 4pm. The tour will start in the small parking lot located on the west side of Fabyan Forest Preserve. The west side preserve entrance is off Route 31 directly north of Fabyan Parkway in Geneva. $4 per person is appreciated.
Participants will be guided a portion of the former Riverbank Estate that Nelle and George Fabyan called home from 1905 till 1939. The walking tour will help give historic insight into items in the preserve in a fun and memorable way. Some highlights will include the newly restored lighthouse, the monkey cage and seeing were the Roman Pool once stood! Participants will also be given a map as they explore the estate on foot with the guide.
Space is limited and reservations are encouraged. Please call Preservation Partners offices at 630-377-6424 before the tour date or email fabyanvilla@ppfv.org. The preserve entrance is off Route 31 directly north of Fabyan Parkway in Geneva. The Fabyan Forest Preserve is owned and maintained by the Forest Preserve District of Kane County. Preservation Partners is sponsoring this event.
